Extended Rom offenlegen / T-Mobile Branding entfernen
WICHTIG - Durch diesen Vorgang werden alle Daten auf dem MDAc gelöscht, vorher eine Sicherung machen ! Das Gerät befindet sich dann im Windows 2003 SE Modus ohne T-Mobile Soft ( Bis auf das Einschaltogo ist alles von T-Mobile entfernt )
Wer sich die .cabs anschauen möchte der macht ein Hardreset (die Aus/Eintaste drücken und gleichzeitig den Stift in die Öffnung drücken wo ein Softreset mit ausgeführt wird) dann die ersten Schritte am Bildschirm ausführen. Sobald man das erste Mal auf den Heutescreen kommt.... !! sofort ein Softreset machen !!
Nun liegt der Compact jungfreulich vor einem und man kann über den Explorer das Extended Rom auswählen unter \\\\Mein Gerät\\\\Extended_ROM.
(Alternativ kann man auch das Programm LoadVDisk aus dem Windows Ordner starten, dann wird das Extended_Rom auch angezeigt, aber natürlich ist das Branding noch da )
Die dort liegenden Anwendungen können jetzt nacheinander manuell angeklickt werden und werden so installiert. T-Mobile-spezifische Dinge sind in den beiden Dateien, die mit "TMO" beginnen und in der "IntelliDialer.CAB", installiert man diese nicht, so bleibt das Gerät im "ungebrandeten" Zustand. Es fehlt dann (mit Ausnahme des IntelliDialers) nichts an Funktionalität, nur Dinge wie Hintergrundbilder, T-Mobile-Logos, Klingeltöne, GPRS/MMS-Einstellungen, etc.

ich habe allerdings noch eine frage dazu.
was "braucht" man wirklich, was muss man "unbedingt" installieren, damit alles einwandfrei lauft?
denn ohne install aus dem ext. rom geht es "anscheinend" auch!

Ich hätte gerne gewusst, was "CAB: \Extended_ROM\UA_Profile_TMO.sa.CAB " macht und welches der beiden "CAB: \Extended_ROM\TMO_CustomizeUI_GER_B13.CAB " bzw. "CAB: \Extended_ROM\Customize_119.sa.CAB" NUR für die T-Mobile Settings zuständig ist. NICHT für irgendwelche Branding Geschichten. Brauche lediglich SMS, MMS, GPRS.

Wenn man das Extend Rom offenlegt und somit ein reinen Pocket PC Windows Mobile 2003 SE (Second Edition) hat, dann kann man Telefonieren und SMS verschicken ohne etwas einstellen zu müssen. Was allerdings fehlt sind die Einstellungen für MMS, GPRS und die zusätzlichen Programme wie GPRS Monitor etc. etc. halt all die Dinge die hier erklärt werden.

Wollte nur anmerken das das MDA Compact von T-Mobile in AT mit neuer ROM Version ausgeliefert wird: Mein Gerät hat folgende Versionen: ROM: 1.12.01 GER. RADIO: 1.12.00 ich habe mein Gerät vor 10 Tagen bei T-Mobile angemeldet. Freund hat sich heute eins besorgt: ROM: 1.13.01 GER Radio: 1.13.00 Das Datum ist rund 3 Monate neuer! ExtRom hat auch ein Upgrade bekommen. Aber da mein ExtROM freigelegt ist, kann ich mich nicht mehr erinnern welche version ich hatte. cheers Vahid ROM

Leider habe ich das Problem bei meinem MDA compact 3, daß nach der Hard/Softreset Prozedur sich der MDA von selbst neu mit der T-Mobile Software bespielt und ich kein Möglichkeit des Eingriffs habe.
